Your privacy is important to us. Your data is your own. We make no claims to it and will only use it according to the policies outlined below.

Gathering Data

GoSUP allows you to measure your activity during your stand up paddle-sessions. To provide you helpful information about your SUP session, we access a variety of apple watch sensors. Following sensors are accessed:

Accelerometer and gyroscope to classify paddle strokes.
If available on your Apple Watch model, barometer and altimeter to detect the water body you are paddling on.
Heart rate sensor to visualize and correlate the heartbeat with your paddling activity.
GPS sensor to track your pace and your route.

All the collected data is only used for displaying on the live workout screen or in the session history within the app.

Personally-Identifying Information

GoSUP does not require an account, therefore the app does not collect any Personally-Identifying Information.

HealthKit Data

GoSUP uses Apple HealthKit Framework. The app requests permission to read the heart rate, workout data and the workout route. The heart rate is used in order to provide live heartbeat on the activity screen. Reading the workout data and route from HealthKit is used to keep your GoSUP and the HealthKit in sync. GoSUP also requests permission to write workout data to HealthKit. This data is used in order to “Close your Rings”. Giving write access to the workout route allows GoSUP to write the route of your session to HealthKit and associate it with your workout stored in HealthKit.

In no case is your health data ever transferred to a 3rd party. It is stored within the application container of GoSUP or transferred to your personal HealthKit data store according to your permission choices.
